Fostering Support
We can help the foster carers you work with through a powerful programme of therapeutic support that will enhance the experience of children in care and their foster families.
Effective support can improve foster carer retention and help foster carers cope better and work more effectively with the children in their care.
Our services are informed by the principles of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy), developed by clinical psychologist, Dan Hughes, as well as current thinking in neurobiology research.
DDP is a family therapy model that was developed for the treatment of children who have experienced abuse and neglect and who demonstrate ongoing problems related to attachment and relational trauma.
We offer a range of therapeutic interventions, including
-
DDP Family Therapy
-
Psychodynamic Therapy
-
Early Placement Support: Aattachment-Focused Therapy
-
Theraplay®-Informed Therapy
-
Direct Work with Children
-
Therapeutic Life Story Work.

We also offer targeted 1-1 consultations to identify where the foster carer needs additional therapeutic support to prevent placement breakdown, whilst also offering the carer the opportunity to explore challenging issues in a non-judgemental space.
